2nd meeting of the Joint Monitoring Committee took place in Daugavpils, Latvia

On 23 November 2016, the 2nd meeting of the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) of the Latvia-Russia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 was held in Daugavpils, Latvia back-to-back with the Programme Launching event and Partner Forum.

The session was chaired by Ilze Krieva, Deputy Director of Development Instruments Department of Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia and co-chaired by Yulia Savkina, senior specialist-expert of Department for Regional and Cross Border Cooperation Development of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

The meeting started with an introduction of current state of play of Latvia – Russia Programme 2014-2020 followed by the approval of the Work Programme for 2017 and Information and Communication Plan 2017.

At its second meeting, the members of JMC approved all four summary forms of the projects selected through Direct Award procedure that will be sent to the European Commission for further approval.

During the meeting, a set of documents of Applicant’s Pack was reviewed and discussed. Some amendments to the documents are still under discussion, therefore approval of a full Applicant’s Pack will follow in January 2017.

The JMC approved also an indicative timeline for the Call for Proposals. The Launch of the Open Call is foreseen to take place in the first quarter of 2017.

Next JMC meeting will be held in the second part of 2017 in Russian Federation.
