“EWA” Grant Contract has been signed

On 30 May, 2019, the Managing Authority of Latvia-Russia CBC Programme and Proprietary Establishment of Supplementary Education “Saint Petersburg social and economic institute” signed the grant contract to implement the project “Entrepreneurship, women and advice: a network of resource centers in the border areas” (EWA).

The project contributes to overcoming local challenges in demography and labor market by developing socio-economic potential of women – a significant part of economically active population of the programme regions. The project will create the network of resource centers for women, including the 4 newly established and equipped in Pskov, Pskov region (Russia), Latgale and Zemgale (Latvia). It will engage professional coaches to deliver pilot trainings in digital business technologies and project management both for women and local mentors; the latter will continue working in the resource centers beyond project lifetime.

The project is expected to help women adapt to labor markets and to contribute to increase of self-employment and the number of new SMEs.

The total budget of the project is 230 thousand EUR, including Programme co-financing of 207 thousand EUR.
